How do you establish the difference between everyday, work, out-on-the-town, semi-formal, and formal outfits? I began the discussion today on Qwear: Finding Your Style Baseline
Another amazing year of Qwear goodness has passed! A lot of cool stuff happened:
2. And then as if we couldn’t possibly get any more fabulous, Fit For a Femme came on board!
3. We had an amazing Power Clashing party at the Dalloway in NYC
4. We also had an amazing hair salon with Raimi & Lee in Boston
5. Topman sponosored Qwear, making Sonny their first ever female assigned blogger
6. Bing finally explained why Esther Quek is always on her phone
7. Photographer Melisa Cardona and about 15 beautiful people in New Orleans got together for a photoshoot.
Here’s to another fabulous year of queers, fashion, and love.
That was fun. Want more? Check out last year’s highlights!
Happy New Year,
Sonny & The Qwear Team
Despite the widespread misconception that every girl who likes girls rocks a mullet, flannel, and Birkenstocks, fashion blogs for lesbians DO exist –and whether you’re gay or straight, they’re pretty darn awesome! Whether you’re a butch who loves looking dapper or a femme who’d wear a frilly frock over jeans any day, you should bookmark

Exciting news! Indochino loved my post so much that they invited us to come enjoy wine and fittings with them on their final day in Boston, Monday, April 15! Come join me from 5 to 7pm to get fitted, drink wine, and hang out.
Indochino also wanted me to clarify that they only make traditional men’s suits, (boxy, padded shoulders, etc.) and not traditional women’s, even though they will fit them to anyone. If you are looking for a more androgynous look or for something that hugs curves, they might not be for you. (But you should still come hang out with us anyway!)
I can’t wait!!
See you then, ‘mos
I’m off to NYC for the next 24 hours to shoot a spring fashion video showing off pieces from Three Leaves Menswear, with videographer Ricardo Nelson, Topher Gross (contributor at ORIGINAL PLUMBING magazine), Sebastian Joshua Flowers (contributor at bklyn boihood), Rae/The Handsome Butch (our tailoring consultant and contributor at dapperQ), and Katrina Casiño (contributor Autostraddle). All made possible by the amazing Anita Dolce Vita of dapperQ.

Calling all NYC Qwearlings!
To celebrate your Powerful Fashion Risks that play between classic and modern, we have teamed up with The Dalloway in NYC to host a POWER CLASHING PARTY!
Join us on Sunday, April 28th in your BOLDEST and BRIGHTEST PATTERNS and COLORS to celebrate the multiple risks we take in fashion… AND in life!
No Cover! Prizes will be awarded to the most fabulous clashers.
Here are some tips from our power clashing post:
1. Mix bigger patterns with smaller ones.
2. Find a way to tie it all together. When mixing patterns, find a common color to repeat throughout the outfit.
3. THE SQUINT TEST: When you have your outfit on, squint and see if it looks like a mess or you can easily distinguish the different pieces.
Annnnnnd go! Answer this trivia question right first, and win a $50 iTunes gift card! Put answers in the comments.
If you are responding via Tumblr account, make sure to have your ask page activated so I can contact you about your address. If I can’t get in touch with you, I’m going to give the card to my mom. Yup.
